The Role

We are seeking a Principal Consultant who operates across both Assessment & Succession and Leadership & Professional Development. As a delivery-focused principal, you will manage and deliver complex, multi-workstream engagements at the highest levels of quality, while acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders. You will design and deliver high-impact leadership development programs (including coaching and cohort facilitation) and shape rigorous assessment and succession solutions, establishing yourself as a subject matter expert with colleagues and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver high-quality Assessment & Succession solutions, including role profiling, assessment architecture, selection and development assessment batteries, succession planning frameworks, and outcome reporting.
  • Lead and manage client relationships and complex projects spanning multiple service lines and geographies; define scope, outcomes, delivery model, resourcing, and governance.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and interpretation of client/sector issues to identify opportunities; contribute to proposals, pricing, shaping opportunities, and pitch preparation.
  • Provide high-impact feedback and development planning based on assessment insights; partner with internal industry and practice experts across Korn Ferry.
  • Design and facilitate leadership development programs and experiences (large- and small-group facilitation, virtual instructor-led sessions, assessment debriefs, and individual/executive coaching).
  • Develop program materials (learning architecture, instructional design, workbooks, slides, facilitator guides) and seamlessly partner with co-facilitators and client stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute delivery in virtual and in-person formats; programs may include residential 1–4 day events depending on client needs.
  • Apply operational discipline to sales and delivery using internal systems; manage engagement economics to ensure scope integrity, margin, and profitability.
  • Mentor and coach consultants, project managers, and operations colleagues; contribute to communities of practice by sharing best practices and thought leadership.

Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications

  • Relevant advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) preferred; minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in a top-tier professional services firm and/or in-house HR/talent role in complex environments.
  • Established credentials in leadership assessment, succession, and talent management; ability to quickly build credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with assessment tools and methodologies (e.g., cognitive, behavioral and personality assessments, multi-rater instruments/360°, behavioral interviewing) and turning insights into development plans; certifications valued.
  • Professional training as a business coach (e.g., ICF or equivalent) and a proven track record in leadership development design, facilitation, and executive coaching.
  • Experience conducting needs analyses and designing integrated talent, assessment, and leadership development solutions that align to business objectives; knowledge of current trends and best practices.
  • Fluency in Dutch & English
