The Associate Principal will work on project teams with seasoned practitioners and sales colleagues to deliver custom solutions that meet and exceed client expectations, within the Total Rewards area, but with a focus on Compensation. This individual plays a major role in our organization by helping clients determine whether their organization is providing benefits and salaries that are equitable and competitive within the marketplace.

The Associate Principal develops, communicates, and implements salary survey data for the inclusion of base pay, bonuses, and incentives in Korn Ferry’s market leading rewards benchmarking database.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage medium sized projects or complex work streams, this includes developing the project plan, engaging the resources and delivering the solution
  • Manage client relationships and/or support relationship development as part of the account in order to win work.
  • Involve subject matter experts and more senior resources as needed and manage their involvement in the project.
  • Deliver local marketing presentations. Takes the lead in sales calls/presentations and develops proposals in own area of expertise.
  • Provides sales/proposal support in major bids.
  • Follows-up with clients to participate in compensation and benefits surveys.
  • Supports clients with the data submission process and verifies data directly with them.
  • Performs market review independently to identify outliers in the overall database and works with team leader and senior team members to determine actions that need to be taken.
  • Performs standard quality checks for sector reports, working with team leader and senior team members for approval prior to publishing.
  • Performs data extracts and analyses from the database to service clients’ market information needs, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Assists with the implementation of salary surveys for a broad range of industry sectors, including collecting data, performing analysis, interpreting data, and delivering results.
  • Navigates a wide variety of existing processes, procedures, and precedents to interpret data and identify possible answers.
  • Tracks and updates client information in customer relationship management systems
  • Prepares presentations and clients reports.
  • Provides accurate forecasts on existing projects with timely status updates.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience (at least 4 years) handling compensation initiatives required.
  • Total rewards experience with Chilean and Argentine markets.
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas sector is highly desired. 
  • Typically, a relevant higher (Master’s) degree plus (7+ years) relevant work experience in a consultancy and/or a client HR function. Alternatively, a Bachelor´s Degree with significant work experience (at least 5 years) in a top tier professional services firm. (in a professional services or consulting firm or within a human resources or organization design department, delivering human capital-related services).
  • Has established credentials in own ‘major’ discipline and is able to operate independently to make custom adjustments to relatively standard offerings to meet client needs. Can lead core service line work activities. Maintain knowledge and expertise of an industry, current and future trends and challenges.
  • Develop expertise (depth and breadth) and consulting skills i.e., client relationships, commercial impact and business insights.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (able to communicate in writing and verbally, make presentations and speak with fluency).
  • Analysis skills, coupled with solid experience with Excel required.
