We’re excited to welcome a Regional Senior Accountant (APAC) who will play a pivotal role in supporting the Finance function to provide the full scope of finance support requisite of an overseas subsidiary of an international publicly listed company combined with a strong focus on business support for the growth of the firm in APAC and to drive target profitability via strong business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Monthly, Quarterly & Year End Financial Close
- Performs/reviews regional consolidation and manage the reporting for monthly, quarterly and annual close
- Drives accounting quality from the consolidated level into the regions and countries, including review of local countries’ financials, close checklist, reconciliations and variance analyses
- Prepares the monthly and quarterly regional variance analyses
- Prepares/reviews consolidated monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, including Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting
- Prepares/reviews the quarterly SEC schedules for submission to Corporate
- Works closely and link up with finance professionals in APAC and Corporate offices
Financial and Compliance Legacy
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and all KF financial accounting and core internal control policies
- Ensure that an adequate system of internal controls is in place and properly monitored in order to protect the company’s assets and interests
- Manage SOX and internal audit requirements, both at regional and country level across APAC
- Manages compliance with local statutory requirements, including review/approval of countries’ statutory financial statements
- Establish a culture that encourages the highest level of integrity and ethical behaviour in all business activities
- Drives efficiency and process improvement in the accounting and control processes across APAC.
- Works closely with finance professionals in different functions within APAC, such as the Shared Services, FP&A, Tax and HR.
Other Regional Finance projects
- Bank system administrator
- Involved in Regional Finance projects, as need arises
- Involved in SAP4/Hana system projects, as needs arises
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Minimum 6-8 years of working experience, with at least 3 years’ experience in one of the Big Four accounting firms, followed by a finance position with a MNC
- Good understanding of US GAAP and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
- Good analytical skills and an inquiring mind
- Good interpersonal skills and enjoy interacting and working with colleagues – across functions and cultures throughout Asia Pacific
- Proactive and is keen to learn
- A strong working knowledge of EXCEL is essential. Preference will be given to those who have worked with business intelligence and consolidation tools e.g. Hyperion and Business Objects (BOBJ)
- Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
