We are seeking a hands-on, adaptable localization leader to drive enterprise-wide localization efforts. As we complete our transition from Crowdin to Phrase, we are seeking a localization expert to help upgrade current localization process and lead localization efforts from end-to-end. This role demands a proactive, internal client-facing professional who can build scalable workflows, manage vendors, and lead change in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
THIS IS FULL TIME CONTRACT POSITION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Priority & Migration• Contribute immediately to the migration from Crowdin to Phrase; Phrase expertise is critical.• Lead and execute localization efforts across the enterprise, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution..• Contirbute to upgrading current localization process to ensure they are best in class.
Process & Workflow Development• Audit existing localization processes and build scalable workflows, tools, and governance.• Implement and automate global localization processes to eliminate manual tasks.• Create and maintain documentation for processes, tools, training, and best practices.• Explore, assess, and implement localization workflow and AI technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement• Participate in internal client calls (product management, delivery team, etc.) to understand customization needs and explain localization processes in simple terms.• Engage flexibly and responsively with client requirements around formats, deliveries, and timelines.• Communicate proactively with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.• Work cross-functionally to identify and remove project blockers; liaise with regional teams to assess needs and find efficiencies.
Quality & Risk Management• Support creation and coordination of a linguistic quality program with defined service levels and quality thresholds.• Assess project risks and manage prioritization and bug tracking.• Use data analysis to optimize decisions, track ROI, and measure vendor performance against KPIs.• Maintain translation assets including style guides, terminology, and translation memories.• Technology & Vendor Management• Coordinate handoffs and deliveries with language service providers and support deployment of localized assets.• Serve as primary admin contact for language and tool providers; manage vendor relationships. Requirements:
Must-Have• 5+ years of localization program management experience, including building new processes, tools, and infrastructure.• Immediate familiarity with Phrase and ability to contribute to migration efforts without extended ramp-up.• Demonstrated hands-on execution skills; able to follow up proactively and move work forward independently.• Ability to manage multiple projects in an agile environment with minimal supervision.• Proven ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and drive change management across teams.• Strong client-facing communication skills; able to simplify complex localization concepts.• Experience managing intake workflows and customizing delivery formats.• Advanced stakeholder management and influencing skills.• Advanced project management capabilities.• Strong technical skills with authoring tools, LMSs, and various file types.• Experience with CAT tools and TMS platforms (e.g., Phrase, GlobalLink, XTM, Memsource, Smartling, Trados Studio, Lilt).• Experience working with global cross-functional teams.• Knowledge of localization best practices for online learning and eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate Rise, Storyline).• Understanding of software internationalization, localization standards, and testing practices.• Excellent English-language and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have• Degree in translation, localization, or related technical discipline• Experience with localization for product, training, marketing, creative, and multimedia content.• Knowledge of languages beyond English.
