About the role
We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Commercial Analyst to join our team in Melbourne or Sydney. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, this role will be responsible for assisting the Commercial Manager with providing the business with strategic and commercial oversight, whilst supporting the business’s understanding of financial performance and identifying areas to improve commercial outcomes.
The position is relied upon heavily for the provision of critical commercial, financial and contractual information to help drive time sensitive decision making and will perform a key role in the review of commercial agreements and supporting the negotiation of terms and conditions.
The person suitable for this role will be equally at ease in the detail of hands-on financial information as they will be presenting business cases to senior management. This role requires someone who can ask the right questions and gather the right information, applying a logical and analytical mindset to provide actionable and meaningful solutions to problems.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in a similar position within a large commercial enterprise or consulting company with experience in commercial finance desirable
- Previous experience in financial modelling, P&L analysis, data analysis and problem-solving skills4+ years of Excel knowledge (e.g. Pivot Tables, Graphs, VLOOKUP)
- Development experience building dashboards and visualisation solutions is desirable (preferably with PowerBI or Tableau)
- High attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in reporting and contracting
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
